- BELGIUM. Mrs Knowles, better known to 1 the people of, Wangatihr as Miss Dormer, Maunder, will > on Wednesday evening next, at the Opera House, relate the story'of her work among the Belgians during the strenuous period of 1914-19. The lecture is entitled “Belgium': Before, During, and After the War,” mid it should prove absorbingly interesting. The lecture will be illustrated by. a number of unique views, taken under quite exceptional conditions. Not the least interesting feature off the evening’s entertainment will be the presentation by MrS Knowles, on behalf of the Belgian Government, to. Mrs P. Wotton of a medal in recognition of the valuable services rendered by her while in charge of the Wanganui effort on behalf of the Belgians. . The, Jdayor will preside on Wednesday evening, and the .proceeds will be devoted to helping the devastated villages of Belgium, ' » , ■
