THE WILY JAPANESE
BUYING LAND IN MEXICO. Received—August 12, 10.5 a.m. WASHINGTON, August 11. The State Department reports that Japanese are acquiring large tracts of land in Mexico, close by the Californian boundary, presumably as a provision against the contingency that they will bo barred from holding land in California.
