The members of the Ministry that nothing has been settled, and they are remaining at Warsaw for the present. DEFENCES OF WARSAW, ENTIRELY INADEQUATE. Received August 11, 10.45 a.m. LONDON, August 10. A German correspondent at the Polish front states that the Reds, advancing on Warsaw from the south-east, circumvented tho defences, and are jeopardising cither flank. They are now directing their main attack on Raszyrain. The outer forts and defences of the city are entirely inadequate. Many of the works were blown up by the Germans. Tho eastern fortresses arc entirely useless. Tlierc-is ii strong line of field fortifications fifteen kilometres from the city of Gorman eontsruction, well suited for defence. Millerand refused information until Mr Lloyd ,George made a statement in the House of Commons, beyond saying that Poland’s independence within the frontiers assigned by the. Versailles Treaty would be maintained.
