MT. EVEREST
PROPOSAL TO SCALE THE PEAK. Received August 10 ; 10 a.m. Times. LONDON, August S. A sub-committee of the Royal Geographical Society is considering details of the proposed expedition to attempt to scale Mount Everest, via Tibet. It is anticipated that the attempt will entail enormous difficulties and will take a couple of years. Mt. Everest, in the Himalaya Mountains, 29,141 feet, is stated to be the highest mountain in the world and is one of the peaks which has not yet been climbed.
