MR AND MUS W. DUNN, A very dainty farewell supper was prepared in the Cygnet Marble Bar on Saturday evening, when the staff of His Majesty’s Theatre foregathered to say farewell to Mr and Mts W. Bonn. Mr, C. Parnell, leader of His Majesty’s Orchestra, paid a tribute _ to the sterling qualities of the departing guests. The staff, he said, sincerely regretted that they were losing two such good friends. Both Mr and Mrs Dunn at all times had shown every consideration for , the members of the staff, who would never forget their many kindnesses. He hoped that they would both have a happy time in Hamilton and be as successful in carrying on their good work in that town. On behalf of the-staff- the speaker then handed Mrs Dunn a silver hot watef kettle and stand and a box of cigars for Mr Dunn. Mr R. D. Patterson, on behalf of th& staff, also made eulogistic referenced to the guests, and endorsed the ex* pressions of regret that Mr and Mr\ Dunn were going away, and joined in wishing them many pleasant times in Hamilton. Mr G. Swan said he had had many pleasant associations with “good old Billy,” who had proved himself a gentleman and a friend in every way. Tire speaker referred in humorous terms to camping expeditions they had had together. Mr Swan also referred in terms of the highest praise to Mrs Dunn and contended that both she and her husband were good sports who had done their level beet to assist in en tertainments, etc. He wished them every happiness and prosperity in theil future sphere. Messrs Findlay and H, Northey alse referred in tokens of esteem to Mi and Mrs Dunn. Mr Dunn appropriately thanked tha gathering for the kindly sentiments and presentation, and stated that he felt that their kindness had been undeserved. The toast of “The Guests” was then honoured, the gathering singing “Fof they are jolly good fellows.” Tlw function was brought to a close by singing “Anld Lang Sype” and a verse of the National Anthem.
