Grand National Hurdles.—Sandule 10.2 iWilliams) 1, Blight Plume 9.13 (Cairns) 2, Tullilah 9.11 (Thompson) 3. Nineteen started. Tullilah was the quickest away, with Pistolier and Suma next. Sandule took charge before they reached the bridge, being followed by Youg’nal, Merry Bob and Tullilah. At the next jump Two Blues, Pistolier and Colonel Knut fell. Passing the stand Captain W. and Mineon lost their riders, Mineon falling and breaking his neck. Sandule was never headed, and stalling off a bold bid by Bright Plume, won by two lengths. Time, 5.41—a record for the race. Beltane got badly away and finished fifth.
