TAR AN AKI TOURNAMENT.

The inter-section play in connection with the Taranaki Bowling Tournament was commenced on the New Plymouth green yesterday morning in ideal weather. There was a large gathering of spectators throughout the day. Much of the play was of the most interesting nature and many games were quite undecided until the final bowl was sent down. The result of the day’s contests leaves seven rinks still in the competition, and of these neither Bary nor Elliott has had a loss in the intersection play. Bary has won all the way through up to the present. The following are the results np to the end of the third round;

First Round—Ford 20 v. Jolly 18. Bary 22 v. Mason 11. Lnscombe 25 v. Castles 16. Foy 27 v. Bartlett 13, Elliott 19 x. Jury 18. McAnony 18 v, Flower 16. McNeil 26 v. Moffatt 15.

Second Round—Bary 24 v. Ford 14. Foy 28 v. Lnscombe 8. Elliott 22 v. McAneny 13. Castles 21 v. Mason 13. Bartlett 17 v. Jury 15. Flower 20 v. Moffatt IS. Jolly 21 v. McNeill 12. Third Round—Elliott 24 v. Foy 20. Ford 26 v. Lnscombe 19. McNeill 23 v. McAneny 18, Castles 23 v. Jolly 16. Flower 17 v, Bartlett 16. Bary a bye. The follownig, having lost two games, drop out of the contest.; Jolly, Mason, Lnscombe. Bartlett] Jury, McAneny and Moffatt. In the citizen’s match twelve teams competed on the Fitzroy green. They were divided into two sections of six each, and three rounds wore completed during the day. The Wanganui teams engaged included those skipped by Nixon, Green, Bowater, and Scrivener. Nison had one win and two losses, Green three losses. Scrivener one win and two losses, and Bowater three losses.
