ADMIRAL SIMS.
THE TRUTH HURTS,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, WASHINGTON, January 27.
Mr Brynes, speaking in the House of Representatives, bitterly attacked Admiral Simms. He called him an Anglophile, and said he should not have divulged anything a superior officer told him. Mr Byrnes said Admiral Simms deserved to be dishonourably discharged from the Navy. Mr Byrnes added that Admiral Simms’ efforts to flatter the British by slandering the army and navy of the United States would meet with the contempt of every true Englishman, as it did of every true American.
