THE COAL PROBLEM.
SUGGESTION BY COAL MERCHANTS
(Per United Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, January 26
The executive of the North Canterbury Coal Merchants’ Association has forwarded a resolution to the Minister of Munitions stating, with a view to the large stocks of hard coal held by the Government, and the small proportion allotted to retailers for public distribution, all railway services other than essential should be cut out so as to enable the public to secure hard coal to mix with lignites.
