SHIPPING FREIGHTS.

The Shipping Controller has framed new freight rates from the Ist January for cargo vessels directed to load homeward Government cargoes, owing to the increased cost of bunker coal, port delays, and the increased cost of loading and discharging. The rates to Britain from Cuba will he 85s, from Australia 150s, from the River Plate 107s per ton. The present Government rate on sugar from Cuba is 50s, grain from the River Plate 62s sd, and grain from Australia 105s. •:
