WANGANUI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The above Society’s rose, carnation, and sweet pea show will bo held in the Drill Hall on Friday nest, December’ sth. Entries close at Rice and Co.’s to-morrow (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. Stalls of flowers, produce; and vegetables will bo in charge of members, to assist the funds of the Society. Afternoon tea will also be served. Contributions to the above-mentioned are requested. Arrangements are being made to hoTO the sweet pea and general show for the children on December 17th (election day) in the ’ Christ Cbn rcb Sunday School Room, further particulars of which will appear in the Press shortly. Messrs George and Kersley have given a special prize for most - points in the Home Industries class, which includes bread (white and brown), cakes, scones, plum puddings, rolls, pastry, bottled fruits, etc. Good prizes have been allotted for this section, and oood competition should result. The secretaries will' supply schedules _ on application.
