A WANGANUI PROTEST,

A "SQUARE DEAL” DEMANDED FROM TEE GOVERNMENT,

The following resolution was passed unanimously at a special general meeting of the local branch of the P. and T. Officers’ Association last night;— "This meeting of the Wanganui branch of the P, and T. Officers’ Association is of the opinion that the action of the Government in. refusing to honour the promises msvde by Sir J. G. Ward in his official capacity of Postmaster-General in the Coalition Ministry in connection with the war bonus, is contrary to the of 1-expressed promises of the present Government to give to all and sundry a ‘square deal,’ and is also conducive to weakening the public servants’ faith in Ministerial promises.”

Telegrams from Gisborne, Nelson, and Invercargill record that resolutions to the same effect were unanimously carried.
