WALKED UNDER THE SEA

A party of fifty men and women, including journalists, photographers, and students of submarine engineering, have had a stroll along the floor of Long Island Sound beneath six fathoms of water. They were the guests of Mr • Simon Lake at the first exhibition of his recently completed submarine salvage ships, the Argossy and Argonaut HI. The demonstration was conceived with the idea of showing that the recovery of millions of dollars’ worth of sunken treasure is a practicable proposition. Those who attended the demonstration were convinced that Mr Lake has surmounted the barriers that restrict the diver at the work of reclamation.
