AMUSEMENTS & MEETINGS.
A very successful session of ithe Dublin Street Band of Hope was brought to a close laslfa Wednesday evening, when there was a good attendance of members and friends. The recruiting prize for bringing the most recruits throughout the session was won aad presented to Maggie Anderson. A very enjoyable programme was then gone through, the following contributing to the programme: Solos: Rev. A. M. Cbstain (encored) and Mr Wright (encored); pianoforte solo, , Florrie Marshall (encored); pianoforte duets, Lovey Upton and Nellie Lovegrove, Willie and Tom Mitchell; pianoforte trio, Harold, Willie and Tom Mitchell; diaogues, Dunald Mara and Edward Conebere and Edward Harmam, Hay Taylor, Fred Conebere, David Ingle, Kingie Tahiwi, Irene Mara and Mary Tahiwi; recitations, Miss Howell. At the close of the meeting lollies -were distributed among tie children, FORDELL SHOW. Fordell will hold its annual Show on Saturday, 29th November, in the Fordell Hall. A brake is to leave the Post Office at 1.15 p.m., and people desirous of going out to the Show may book their seats at the Y.'M.C.A. Fare 2s 6d return. There are to be produce and sweets stalls, afternoon tea, and various guessing competitions. Gifts for the aibove stalls will be thankfully received. , -, Miss Tread well and Miss Anderson have charge of the sweets stall, and Mrs J. Glasgow and her daughters are in charge of a produce stall. Entries close on Saturday, 22nd inst., with Mr H. Campbell, No. 2 Line. . The writing and drawing entries for school children must be sent in to the secretary by Saturday, 22nd inst.
