LONDON, November 17. The details of the scheme for the joint control of the railways are as follows; Mr Thomas and two other Trade Unionists will join the Central Advisory Committee, which supersedes the Government’s railway executive. Hie new committee, in addition to formulating the policy, will take an active part in directing railway organisation, though Ihe directors of the railway companies will continue to hold their present positions The Government’s .trading interests and the public will also be represented on the committee. Though the scheme falls far short of the railwaymen’s proposals the men regard it as a great advance towards complete nationalisation and joint control of the railways by tire State and Unions alone.
