Scratched: Croesus, Bombproof, and Bingham. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.12 3-5. Seymour Handicap—Falstaff 1, Sans Souci 2, Steepholm 3- Scratched: Bonnetter. Won by a length. Time, 1.31 4-5. Members’ Handicap.—Onslaught 1, Demos 3, Michael a 3. Scratched; Eleus and Melee. Worn by half a length. Time, 1.38 4-5. »■ : r THE RIOCARTON ACCIDENT. ELLIS DOING WELL. CHRISTCHURCH, November 14. • The report from the hospital on Wednesday regarding the injuries received by F. W. Ellis through a fall from Mandrake in the Randolph Handicap at Riccarton was very wide of the mark. The only injuries he 'received were a slight fracture of the skull and a broken collarbone. He is progressing well and has been conscious since the evening of the accident, and is reported to be well on the way to recovery. (It was at first reported that the jockey had suffered a fracture of the skull, two broken legs, a broken arm, and broken ribs.) By “ACHILLES.” Weights for the Feilding meeting are due to» make their appearance on Monday. Mr KembalFs string, which arrived back from Australia this week, landed, in Feilding yesterday, in readiness for engagements at the spring meeting there at the end of the month. They will be joined' by four or five other horses belonging to the same owner, and will go on to Auckland in December to compete at the A.D.O. Christmas meeting.
