SPEEDING-UP URGED, (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November .14. The R.S.A. having asked Sir James Allen to expedite the payment of gratuities, the Minister replied that the Department is already working at exceedingly high pressure. Some of the accounts are complicated and take much time. During the last week the payments averaged 760 per day, and the number is increasing. ■ To date £856,630 has been paid out, representing 13,271 applications completely dealt with.
