HEATY LOSSES OP CATTLE, The drought still continues, and heavy losses of dairy cattle are being reported, wrote a correspondent from lasmore. New South Wales, on November 4>. The rain of a week ago was of no service to this district, bat a few puteide centres had serviceable falls. It is reported that 20,000 head of dairy cattle have been lost during the past seven weeks, and the question is being asked how many more will die before the Government sends fodder. A mass meeting of farmers was held on Saturday to discuss the situation. It was stated that the deputation which interviewed the Minister two weeks ago considered that faith had not been kept. A motion was carried that the Government ho asked, immediately to supply chaff, bran, and bay at. half the market rates. A committee was appointed to assist in the distribution, through the butter factories, of a consignment of 400 tons of chuff sent by the Government to Lismoro last week.
