Mr Hurley, in a statement, says that the United States is to-day potentially the greatest Marine Power in the world because of her shipbuilding instrumentalities. ‘T understand that Britain will be able to construct three million gross tons of shipping in 1919. . Japan has also developed as a great shipbuilding nation. Her annua! maximum output is estimated at 1,700,C00 tons.
