Lo Matin reveals that 8010 was constantly conferring in Switzerland with Sadik. the ex-Khedive's emissary, and they jointly arranged a scheme for the insertion of pro-German articles in French newspapers. Sadik proceeded to Berlin and explained the scheme to von Jagow, who consented to pay half a million pounds in ten monthly instalments. 8010 regarded the terras as niggardly, and declared he could not buy the people's souls with such small instalments. He received several instalments after the ex-Khedive and Sadik had each deducted a ten per cent commission.
