There are 34 events set down for decision, the prize-money in each case being on a scale whicii should attract big fields, and as the steeple chase meeting is very popular with racegoers the gathering should be a most successful one from every point of view. AleFlinn, the well-known Auckland horseman, met witli bad luck at the Avomlale J.C.'s autumn meeting on Thursday. He was riding Pendoon in the Titirangi Welter, when his mount foil, and McFlinn fractured a kneecap.
