French official.—Between the Somme and the Oise we attacked this morning the German positions southwards of St. Quentin. Despite stubborn resistance by the enemy we captured several lines of trenches between the Somme, La Fre, and St. Quentin Road, taking prisoners and machine-guns. We progressed also eastwards of Coucy and Laville, and captured prisoners and material.
