AMUSEMENTS AND MEETINGS

HIS MAJESTY'S. "THE STRONGER LOVE." The star picture in the new programme to be screened at His Majesty's Theatre to-night, "The Stronger Love," features Vivian Martin. On Thunder Mountain lived Nell Serviss. The Servisses were at feud with the Rutherfords, who lived on the ither side of the mountain. Jim Serviss was leader of <his clan, and betweeu Jim and Nell Serviss was a sort of mountain betrothal. Tom Seryiss, his vicious, worthless brother, also loved Nell, and persistently annoyed her with his attentions. One day a handsome stranger from the city went to live with the Rutberfords. His actions puzzled the "lnoonsluning" mountaineers, who suspected him of being a "revebooer." Nell Serviss and the newcomer became elo?e friends, and this friendship soon grew into something deeper and stronger. Nell showed the stranger a rich deposit of radium near the Serviss "moonshine" still. Shortly afterwards the still was burned by the revenue officers. The newcomer was suspected, and the Servisses started in t'he morning to "get" him. Nell Serviss, of Thunder Mountain, humiliates herself that another might be saved, and by so doing triumphed in "The Stronger Love." The supporting programme includes "His Busted Trust," a Triangle Keystone comedy, and the latest Topical Budget. Seats may be reserved at Upton's Music Warehouse.

EVERYBODY'S. "A WOMAN'S POWER" AND "THE MATING." a particularly attractive programme will be screened at Everybody's Theatre to-night at 7, headed by two star features. The first will be a five-act World film production, "A Woman's Power." The story is a most interesting one. Newt Spooner's determination to kill Henry Falkins, who has denounced Newt" and sent hiru to prison, grows deeper rooted with the years. Despite the influence of the girl he loves, »lie still cherishes his hatred. Pate throws the two men together in the Philippines. The denouement is thrilling in the extreme. The second feature is "The Mating," a 500 ft production by Thos. H. Ince, featuring Bessie Barrascale, who created such a favourable impression in "The Reward." The story is well handled, clever, and bright, and Bessie Barrascale shows to Hie greatest advantage in a schoolgirl part, in which she displays high intelligence. She is consistent throughout, and quickly wins the sympathy' of the audience as she faces the difficulties of her social and school life, and later on the trouble when the course of true love was not running smoothly.

THE NORWOODS. The Norwoods had another large audience at the Opera House last evening, and the programme presented proved highly interesting and diverting. A ppeeiil feature, presented by the Norwoods for the first time, was a negro m.'-d'oy. which was not only highly amusing, "but produced some good winging Hiid dancing. The season closes this evfiiiii" with a children's night. Children will be admitted at half-price, to all paifo, and a special programme wiil be presented.
