SWIMMING.
ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY. The annual competition for the Challenge Shield took place bn Friday, 3 oth ult., in the Corporation Bath. Mr R. R. King acted as starter, Mr H. W. Cooper as judge, and Messrs G. Broadhead and R. Hollis as timekeepers. Only the Gonville and Queen’s Park Schools entered teams, the former winning the hoys’ shield and the latter the girts’ shield. Dr. Wall judged the method of resuscitation, and Mir D. McFarlane the work in the water, while 'Mr B. King acted r,s starter, and Messrs G. Broadhead and B. Hollis as time-keep-er-.;.
