There was fine weather for the opening of the Canterbury Jockey Chib’s autumn meeting, and a good attendance. r l lie going was excellent. Results:— Kildare Hurdles—Art 1. Cast Iron 2, Crib 3. Scratched ; Peronilia. IVon by three-quarters of a length, 10 lengths between second and third. Time, 3.49 2-5. Champagne Stakes—Gamecock 1. Estlaud 2. Won comfortably by a, length. Time, 1.13 3-5. Autumn Plate—Bmmbletyo 1, Gheloma 2, Sir 'Parka 3. Scratabed: Beltane, San Sebastian, and White King’. Clieloma led to the, distance, where Bramb'etye came through, winning by half a length. Time, 1.40 4-5. AUCKLAND R.C. MEETING. SECOND DAY. AUCKLAND. April 9. The races arc being continued to-day in fine weather. There is a large attendance. Results:— Stewards’ Handicap—Seadown 1, Tressida 1. Tinopai 2. Scratched:— Menclaus, Lady Penury, and Toki. Seadown came through in the straight and won by two lengths. Time, 1.40. Alangcro Handicap—Cardroua 1, Last Call 2. Monodon 3. Scratched: Alii I o’ Cowrie. Pink Tie. and Blue and Black. Won bv two lengths. Time, 1.15 4-5. Victoria Handicap.—Simonides .1 Lingerie 2, Ample 3. Scratched: Birkenvalc and Agestis. Lingerie led to within a short distance of the post, when Simonides same through and won by a nevk. Time train Isec.
St. Loger—The Toff ]. Bjorneborg 2, Rekanui 3. The only starters. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.2.
FEILDING R.C. MEETING. FIRST DAY. FEILDING, April 9. There Is fine weather and a large attendance at the Feilding races. Results:— Waiata Stakes —Hupana 1, Endure 2, Polynesian 3. Scratched: Sylvan Maid and Carnival King. Won by a nock. Time, 1.8 4-5. Mangaone Stakes—Sweet Tipperary 1. 'Moutoa Queen 2, Veto 3. Scratched: Ilnshnian, Botanist, Starongo. Tree Lucerne, and Coropet. Won easily. Time, 1.13 4-o. Feilding Cup—Multicipal 1. Analogue 2. Master Moutoa 3. All started. Won by a neck. Time, 2-36. Hurdles—Sir Fisher 1, Record 2. Campguard 3. All started. Won easily. Time, 3.55 1-5.
