Fanners of Taihape have ..provided the prizes, and 19s out of every 20s goes to the local sub-centre of the New Zealand branch of the Bed Cross Society Tickets are on sale now, and those of our readers who are unable to buy them personally may obtain them by sending the money (postal notes or P.O, money order), addressed: “Mrs E. H. Suisted, P.O. Box No. 2, St, John’s Hill,, Wanganui”—and send it quickly, '< Now then Mr Farmer, send for a pound’s worth right away, and more if you can afford it. There will be “something doing” on the appointed day. The organisers are hustling. Everybody who. is able to help is invited to co-operate. 'The immediate need is goods wherewith to stock the stalls, and stock , and. produce for disposal in Paddy’s Auction. A special appeal in this connection will be found in our advertising, columns. Goods are wanted for the stalls—produce, fruit, flowers, anything that can be turned into money. 1 - What cannot be sold will be auctioned bv Mr Sam Peyton, of Taihane,’ who will be the presiding genius at Paddy’s Auction. Wait until yon see his patriotic pig. Mr Jameson, of Hie Grand Theatre, is running a special Red Cross picture show from II a.m. till 6 p.m. of “the day.” It will be a show worth going to see. for more reasons than one. About the art union again. The tickets are a shilling each. The prizes are:—First prize, 500 sheep: second nrize. 100 sheep; third prize. 75 sheep; fourth prize, 50 sheep;, fifth prize, 25 sheen; sixth prize, 20 sheep: four prizes of 15 sheep; ten prizes of 10 sheep; 14 prizes of five sheep.
