TO EJJA CASES. (Per United Press Association.) HAMILTO, March 28. The trial of the native Tutara Raiuka on a charge, of per jury, still continues at the Supreme Court, before Mr Justice Hosldng. Evidence for the defence in now being adduced in'ti&c direction of showing that Constable Skinner fired the first shot at Rua's settlement on the 2nd April, 1916. A Native witness swore that the police nad interviewed him and endeavoured to induce him to discard his line of evidence. Further questions were being asked when the Judge ruled' them out as irrevolant to the present jease. Mr Mays said hq did' not deny the interview by Sen ior-Sergiant CaSsells, but denied the complexion put upon it by Mr Lundon. The statement was absolutely • unconnected with this dr the other cases, and the interview in question had been held for an entirely different purpose.
