RACING IN WAR TIME.
CANTERBURY J.C.’S VIEWS. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 27. The Canterbury Jockey Club ,has had the question of racing jn wartime under consideration for some time past, and has written to other clubs soliciting their views on the subject. To-day a special" meeting cf the committee -of the club passed the following resolution:— ‘‘That the prolongation of the war and the serious situation of the Empire is causing a strong and growing feeling among sportsmen and others that the early oonsiderationXpf the racing question is desirable. '! he committee of the C.J.C. are strongly *of the. opinion that the racing authorities should approach the Government with reference to any possible adjustmentsof racing matters. With this end in view the committee of the C.J.C. urges the president of the Racing Conference immediately to call the Conference together to discuss the situation.”
