SOLDIERS’ SPECIAL RELIEF.

APPLIES TO OFFICERS AS WELL AS MEN. I Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 30. A doubt has been expressed as to whether the soldiers’ special relief provisions up to <£2 .per week, ,in respect of rent, life insurance, etc,,'apply to officers. Inquiries made in official quarters to-day elicited the announcement that the provisions apply equally to officers as to N.C.O.’s and men. Such relief will, however, only be granted where it is shown as being necessary. Forms of application were now being prepared for members of the forceb, who may apply at any time. . So far as the men at present serving abroad are concerned, their next-of-kin in New Zealand may make application on their behalf.
