TAKAPUNA RACES. SECOND DAT. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 29. Anniversary Day ‘was favoured with fire weather. The principal attractions were the Auckland regatta and the Takapuna races. There is a large attendance at the latter. Results;— Moana Handicap—rßowler and Last Call a dead heat. Pofphyry 3. Scratch- 1 ed: Monodon and Lady Energy. Third horse two lengths away. Time, 1.31 1-5

Suburban Handicap—Tinoreka 1, Lady Glen 2, Lightning 3. Scratched: Gayeium, Rock field, and Penniless. Won by a neck. Time, 1.8 4-5.

Takapuna Hurdles—Luperin 1. Glendalough 2, Kaiwhakahaere 3. All started. Won by half a length. Time, 3.1.

Jockey Club Handicap—Lady Penury 1. King Lupin 2. Tabasco 3. Scratched; Tepapapa and HousewifeWon by half a length. Time, 2.9 1-5.

A Sydney sportsman was recently endeavouring to purchase Bisogne, but the price asked for the son of Bezoniau, 3000g's,, did not lead to business.
