FIGHTING IN RIGA REGION.

(Admiralty, per Wireless.) LONDON, January 28

A Russian official message states that after a heavy bombardment the Germans were beaten back eastward of Kalucem with heavy losses. Wo liberated gas at Mitau, causing a great German panic. A further Russiau official message states; Between the Tirual Swamp and tac river Aa, we launched an offensive and dislodged the enemy. We took some prisoners, but withdrew under German pressure. We advanced a mile in the direction of Kalnoem, but fell back before counter-attacks. General Ivanhkeritcb, who led the first line, was wounded, but remained at his post.
