THE COMING CARNIVAL.

“THE FETE OP NATIONS."

In connection with the Fete of Nations, to be hell here shortly in conjunction with the Queen Carnival, the following extract, taken from the Poverty Bay Herald, will show how the festivities “took on” at Gisborne; —“That the production of the Fete ol Nations in connection with the Queen Carnival has been justified was again demonstrated last night, when the accommodation of His Majesty's Theatre was fully taxed and many were unable to even find standing room. Last night was uie fifth performance of the Fete of Nations, ami the fact that there .was evidence of increasing interest *and enthusiasm speaks volumes for the nature of the entertainment, and it must be gratifying to the organiser (Mr W. Lints) and his efficient company of performers to see how much their efforts are appreciated. So popular have many of the items become that numerous recalls were demanded last night, but Mr Lints announced that he had been asked by the executive to cut out all the encores. The large audience was insistent, however.’’ The Fete of Nations will be singed here under Mr Lints on a more elaborate scale than at Gisborne, so that a big success is assured.
