Replying to a Wine Association’s deputation’s representations against an application which proposed the early closing of the sale of wine, on the ground that it would be detrimental to an important local industry, the Hon. W. A. Holman promised sympathetic consideration. He sajd he was convinced that the lime must come for dealing with wine distinct from beer and spirits. He pointed out that the Government’s early closing legislation was strictly emergency and temporary.
