A national conference in connection with the coal-mining industry met at the ( Horae Office. Masters and men agreed that the necessitv had not yet arisen to suspend the Eight Hours Act. and that suspension would not materially increase the production. Efforts should be made to restrict absenteeism and abolish the uncquaii s.d labour in the various districts.
