SCHOOLS’ TOURNAMENT, FIXTURES

Manawatu v. Wanganui, at Petone No. 1, at 1.30; Wellington ■ v. Petone High School, at No. 3, at 1;30. The committee controlling the Rugby in the Wellington schools, are promoting a tournament extending from September 3rd to 9th. The visiting teams will consist of representatives from Wanganui and Manawatu, who will play the local boys’ team and also a team from the Petone District High “School., Tne matches of the series, Wanganui v. Manawatu and Wellington v. Petone High School, are to bo played as curtain-raisers to the Athletic-Petone cup final at Petone on Saturday next. The programme of entertaining for the boys, includes a visit to the Gear Works at Petone, a trip in the city observation car, placed at t'neir disposal by the Mayor, a visit to the Zoo and to Day’s Bay. The Wanganui ,team leaves tomorrow (Friday);at mid-day.
