OBITUARY.
SAD DEATH OF MR. A. R. MCDONALD. Residents of Waverley and adjoining districts will regret to bear, of the,, sad arid sudden death of Mr- Alfred R. Mac--donald, at a private hospital in Wanganui, this morning. A few days ago Mr. Macdonald was the victim of a motor acident, in which ho sustained painful and serious injuries, the complications arising therefrom necessitating amputation of the leg. It was recognised that the operation was of a very dangerous nature, and the sufferer was too weak to recover from the shock. Deceased was very highly esteemed by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. Ho was a young, man, in the prime of life—energetic and entertaining, yet withal of a quiet and unassuming disposition. He was a well-known solicitor, and chairman of the Waverley Town Board, and secretary of tne Wanganui Hunt Club, and his deatlj will be lamented by a large circle of friends.
The funeral takes place at Waverley to-morrow morning on arrival of the train from Wanganui.
