WANGANUI RIVER SERVICE.
(By Telegraph.—Special to "Herald.”) WELLINGTON, September 1. Answering; Air Veitch’s question as to what steps .were being taken to give effect to the recommendations made by the committee of departmental officers who made inquiries into the working of the Wanganui River steamer service prior to the 1913 session. Air Massey replied that the recommendations had been receiving consideration for some time past, and negotiations are still proceeding between the Government and the owners of the steamers.
