TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

. A meeting was held on Monday mornmg in the office of Mr Win. McLeod, architect, by some members of tho Wanganui hj urniture .Erajiloyers’ Association, those in attendance were Messrs Purser,. Symes, Green, and Fry. Mr Armour (Principal of the Wanganui Technical College) was also present. The work in furniture drawing carried out at the College by students was inspected, and all present expressed keen appreciation of the programme of work being carried out, Tho exhibits represented the work of six apprentices and six journeymen. It was agreed that tho course in drawing and design was calculated to turn out expert tradesmen, and was a valuable supplement to the training apprentices received in the workshops. In fact, it was said, no lad could hope ever to become a foreman unless he took up some such course of extra work. After tho inspection was over, MiArmour stated the case, for the Technical College authorities,' and pointed out that classes in furniture drawing and design were carried out for the first year at a loss, because it was felt that when employers realised what could be done, they would rally to the assistance of the College, and make tho class financially successful. The 'employers present promised to do their utmost to assist the

College, and asked that the matter be left over for consideration until their next meeting. From the above it will bo seen that special interest is being taken in all tiie Technical College woodwork classes.
