CONSTITUTION 'OF RACING CONFERENCE. PROPOSED ALTERATIONS. (Per Uuited Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, July 9.

A representative conference of delegates from Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, and Wanganui districts, convened by the Manawatu Pacing Club, met in Palmerston North to-night to consider matters connected with the government of racing iu Nov/ Zealand. Of IS clubs invited to attend, 15 were represented. Mr J. H. P. Strang, president of the Manawatu' Pacing Club, presided. An able paper was read by Mr J, Goring Johnston dealing with the advisability of altering the constitution of the Pacing Conference. After discussion the following resolution was proposed by A. E. Whyte (Wellington), seconded by J. E. Gleadow (Napier Park), and passed: That this meeting approves the proposal to alter the present constitution of the New Zealand Racing Conference with the object of giving proportionate direct representation to nil totalisator chibs, and that the New Zealand Racing Conference be rconosted to nominate a committee to draft the necessary consequential amendments to the Rules of Racing, and report to a meeting of the conference to bo held during January, 1915, in Wellington.
