Williamson Pantomine of "The Forty Thieves,” to he presented here on AVednesday and Thursday next, at His Majesty’s Theatre, should be. the strongest extravaganza that the firm has put on fox' a long time by reason of the cast alone. Many of the names have been prominent on the programmes of London and New York for seevral years. It was only by the offer of exceptional terms that Mr Barry Lupino, the famous English comedian who plays “Ali Baba,” could be prevailed upon to come to Australia. The cast will also include Air Edwin Brett, an artist of remarkably high standing who, it will be remembered, was so successful in pantomine in (Australia four years ago. Another “tpp notch” artist is Miss Winnie A r olt, who , comes from the Gaiety and A 00110 Theatres, in London. Miss Volt will appear as “Gamen,” the wayward son of the wily widow, “Cogia,” A comedienne of rare merit will doubtless he found in Aliss Dolly Banner. Alisa Banner is a vaudeville artist whoso name is a household word in the English music halls. “The Spirit of Adventure,” the Fairy Queen of the Pantomine, will have an exceptionally handsome exponent in Miss Gertie Latchfor, yet another English artist of reputation and standing. A trio of American vaudeville performers •under the title of “The Three Rubes” keep the audience iu a continual state of laughter till their final exit. Miss Mario Eaton (Abdallah) is an old Pantomirfo favourite as is also Miss Dorothy Firm ; n (MorgianaL The principal dancer this year is Miss Maggie Dickenson, a ballerina who has recently leapt into the first flight of ballot dancers. Mr AVilliam Hassari will give another of his inimitable animal studios as the Donkey. The box plans will be opened at Jones and Son’s on Saturday morning next.
