WELLINGTON DISTRICT WANTS.
THE RIMUTAKA DEVIATION. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, .July 8. A, largely attended conference of delegates from local bodies and Chambers of Commerce in the Wellington district opened to-day. Tlic objects are to discuss the Kimutaka- deviation, the, best means of improving access between' Wellington city and the couhtry districts by rail and road, and the opening up for closer settlement of East Coast lands. A motion was carried to the effect that the, Kimutaka deviation was an absolute and urgent necessity.
