GONVILLE SCHOOL SPORTS. The annual swimming sports in connection with the Gonvdllc School were lied a: the baths yesterday, and proved in- | foresting and successful,, under the supervision of Mr C. H. Bowatcr {head master) and Caretaker Anderson. As was expocted, the school championships were a gift to Clarice Thayer and Willie Tait, ; who easily outdistanced their opponents. 1 Young W hakoroa was a surprise packet, ; arid got third in the 50 yards boys’ championship. He will undoubtedly be a cham- , pion of champions in appear or two. The ; success of the sports is largely due to the ! great interest displayed by Caretaker An- I derson in teaching the children to swim. 1 Following are the results:— | Girls' Championship, 25 yards.—C.
