SAD MINING ACCIDENT.

(Per United Preaa Association). . DtJNEDIN, Jnly 21. A sad accident occurred at Freeman's coal mine, Abbotsford, last night, a young' married man named .fames Walker lost his life. It appear he was working on night shift, taking out pillars. About 12 o'clock his mate called him, and, receiving no answer, went to see if anything was wrong, a:;d discovered that a fall had taken place, burying Walker. An alarm was at once given, and willing-hands set to work to recover the body, which was ;-x----tneated at 11 o'clock this'morning.
