HARBOUR BOARD LEGISLATION.

(Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 21. A sub-committee of the New Plymouth Harbour Board, appointed at. last meeting to consider the amendment of the presjut Harbour Board legislation, reported today, recommending (alternatively) (1) That the alterations in the law -effected by the passing of the Harbours Amendment Act, in so far as such alterations affect the constitution, representation and election of members of boards, lie repealed, and that the provisions of tiro Harbours Act. 1908, relating to same. :u:a repealed by the amending Act of 1910, be re-enacted. Or,

C-i) That the first schedule to the Harbours Amending Act of 1910, be repeal ;d, and two new.. schedules substituted; the first to embrace such of the boards as prefer to- remain under the amending Act of--1910 (with such modifications as to representation, etc., as they may require], and the second to embrace the boards who prefer to remain under the Act of 1908; ;md that clause 30 of the main Act be re-en-acted.
