WANGANUI RUGBY UNION.

The annual meeting of the Wanganui Rugby Union was held, at Dustin’s Rooms last night, when Mr 6. Spriggens presided over a good attendance "of delegates and players.

APOLOGY.—The President apologised for the Absence of Mr Geo. Simpson. ANNUAL REPORT—The annual report as published in the “Herald” on Wednesday evening, was taken as read and adopted. : BALANCE-SHEET,—This showed a very satisfactory position, tfie Union, being over £aQ better off than in the previous -year.—. In moving the adoption of the above, Alb Spriggens spoke at length on the insurance scheme and said that he was pleased that after-a lengthy period a definite scheme had at length been adopted, He knew there were disabilities but ho hoped all- the clubs \vould, do their best to support the scheme.— Mr Len E. Bassett seconded.— Mr Dunkley pointed out how well the Management, Committee had financed; the Union during, the past year. ACCIDENT -FUND.—The scheme as outlined by .the committee responsible for its inception; was laid on the table; . The scheme now stands that, to participate, players will -be called upon to pay 2s 6d a season if they wish to be insured; THANKS.—A hearty vote of thanks was passed’to Air Geo. .Simpson for his past services to. the game in Wanganui, Messrs Spriggens;and Bassett- speaking' in..terms of appreciation; of - Air. 'Simpson’s-, work -as a player, referee, and -member of the Management ’ Committee. Air Spriggens also movedda very hearty vote of thanks ;to Mr’ Dunkley for his devotion to. the Union as secretary. This was carried with ac r clamation. .. .SCORING AND - ROUGH PLAY.—Mr Aleuli moved that it be an instruction tel the Management Committee to reconsider the matter of abolishing the penalty points for players being ordered off.
