EXCITING PASSAGES AT CAMORRIST TRIAL. Sobbing, Screaming, and Fainting. ROME, March 27. There was a dramatic incident during yesterday’s proceedings in the trial of the Camorrists at Viterbo. Guiseppe .Salvi, who is charged with l>cing one of the six participants in the stabbing to death of Ciioccollo and his wife, was confronted with Cuofcollo's ring, which was found secreted beneath the mattress of one of .Salvi's female friends. •Salvi vehemently declared, taking an oath by all the saints, that the Carabineers had placed the ring in the bed in order to fake evidence. “Look at me,” iho said. “I am only a little man. The stromr and dreaded Camorrists would never dream of employing a man like mo to murder a big, able-bodied woman.” Yesterday, also, the priest Vilo/.su, who is connected with the case, was taken ill, and was removed to hospital, suffering from angina pectoris. On the way Inc waggon springs broke, and one of the physicians remarked kjiat the shock might leave brought about his death. “That, would he a short cut,” he replied. “It would cud all my miseries.’' Angry exchanges between the opposing counsel provoked a demonstration among the prisoners, who got beyond the control of the officials. The proceedings, at one time, had to bo suspended. Tlie accused alternately cursed and sobbed hysterically while the women in court screamed and fainted. The wife of on* prisouer went into convulsions.
