FIRES.
INCENDIARISM AT ELTHAM FIRE. (Per United Press Association.) ELTHAM, March .'SO. An inquiry was hold to-day before Mr Kcnrick, S.M., touching the lire that occurred at 2 a.in. on the 12th of February in a building owned by John Roiilley, cf Wellington, which was so damaged that it will have to be re-built. The evidence showed that the tire started in a shop occupied by P. L. Sanko, who had an insurance of £2OO in the New Zealand Office on his stationery and fancy goods stock. A bundle of kindling wood, was discovered in the debris under where the counter had been. A verdict that the shop was wilfully set on fire by some person unknown was returned FIRE AT STRATFORD. STRATFORD, March 31. A fire broke out in tho boiler house of the Stratford Dairy Factory early this morning. The Firo Brigade’s efforts saved tho main building. The damage is estimated at about .£2OO. The total insurances amount to £3915.
