EEEEJIAN E. JACKSON AND CO.'S STOCK EEPOET. WANGANUI SALE. Freeman E. Jackson and Co. report as follows: At our Wanganui sale yesterday (29th) weyarded 540 head of cattle, 3920 sheep, and 151 pigs. In spite of the continued dry weather there was a moderate demand for sheep at ruling rates, and the bulk of the yarding was sold under the hammer. Cattle sold at late rates. A line of 90 3-year steers sold at £5 17s Gd. There was a large entry of pigs. Fat pigs sold freely, but for stores there was poor demand. We quote:— * Sheep.—Good forward wethers 13s 5d to 14s Id, 2-tooth wethers 11s to 11s Gd, small mixed 2-tooths 7s lOd to Bs, 2-tooth ev.es (small) 9s 3d to'los Gd. s.f.ra. ewes 8s Gd to 9s. mixed lambs (small) 4s Id to 4s 7d, culls 2s to 3s, cull ewes 2s Gd, 3s, 3s 7d, to 4s 4d, 2-tooth Eomney rams 3 to Signs, other breeds 10s to £1 Is. Cattle.—Fat cows £6 Ss. light fat cows JB4 14s Gd, forward cows £4 2s to <£4- 9s, store cows .£3 to £3 10s, 18-month heifers (good) A3 2s Gd, 3-year steers £5 17s 6d, 2J-year steers £5 to £5 ss, mixed weaners 17s 6d to 31s, 3-ycar springing heifers £5 7s Gd, aged cows £2 to £2 10a. Pigs.-—Baconers 34s to 375, best porkers 28s to 325, medium 23s Gd to 2Cs Gd, light do. 15s 6d to 22s Gd, slips and weaners 4s to Bs, boars 8s to 325.
