The annual ram fair was hold to-day, and,’ in spite of the very dry weather, the entry’was large and prices very fair. Most demand was for Border-Leicesters, for which prices were half a guinea better than at the recent Christchurch fair. The top -price was 9j guineas for a one-shear Bofder-Lcicester ram bred by Donald Otarit. ,Sheep came forward in good condition. Brokers report good competition in the early part of the sale, especially for Bordet' Leicesters. Buyers were principally South Canterbury farmers.
