EOSE CHALLENGE BADGES. The bowlers among the staff of , the. New. Zealand Poet and Telegraph Department instituted a challenge competition tor badges as a memorial to the late MrEoso, Chief Inspector, of . the Department.' -Last year Messrs D. Miller, and H.'Wilding, of "Wanganui, won the "badges from l.the then holders. Mr Miller having, left Wango i.uu, his place has been taken by Mr T._ E; n> kin. : ' ' Yesterday the Wanganui pair pitted a match on their own green with Mtstvs J. H. Stevens and H. Kissel,,of Palmerston North,- who challenged for the trophies. The first game resulted in a win for, Palmerston by 10 to 11. Wanganui, won the next game by 18 to 14. A third game was then played, Wanganui winning by 18 to 12. Messrs Wilding (skip) and Eankin. havr iug won the rubber, therefore retain the badges, but -will be, called on to defend them again at Easter,, when two Wellington rinks have sent in challenges for matches.
